Madhesh province will be rejuvenated if the tourism sector can be developed: Chief Minister Singh

Chief Minister of Madhes Province Satish Singh said that Madhes Province will be rejuvenated if the tourism sector can develop.
He said that the province government has started working in cooperation with the private
sector for that.
Chief Minister Singh said in the interaction and dialogue program with the government organized by the Ministry of Industry and
Tourism in Birgunj on Wednesday, ‘Tourism is the main basis for the development and prosperity of Madhes Province. If the tourism
sector can be developed then this province canbe rejuvenated. For this, the province government has also started working with the
private sector.
He also informed that plans and programs have been included in the upcoming policies,programs and budget of the province
government for infrastructure development and promotion of the tourist sector.
He said that four tourist circuits are going on in Madhes province by connecting Parsa and Bara,Rautahat and Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha and Siraha and Saptari tourist
destinations. In the middle. He informed that the province government is working in the
tourism sector so that tourists visiting the province can stay at least three days.
Chief Minister Singh said,’The present government is not made for fun like the previous government. Made for working night and night. The current government is working
to erase the negative opinion of Madhes government for the past 7 years.
In the program, Minister of Industry,Commerce and Tourism, Yuvraj Bhattarai (Sameer) announced Vikram Sant 2082 to be made by Madhess Province Government as ‘Visit Madhes’ year. Informed that the slogan of ‘Visit Madhes’ is ‘Ghumau Madhes, understand Madhes’. He said,’The province government has already started preparing for this.’
He also informed that there are many plans for the development of the tourism sector of the province in the upcoming policy, programs and budget of the province. He said that the budget has been managed in upcoming policy and programs to make DPR for infrastructure development there by identifying 65 tourist destinations of Madhes province. Minister Bhattarai also informed that budget is allocated in upcoming policies and programs
for the development of tourism infrastructure in Thori, the main tourist destination of Madhes Province.
Mohan Sharma of Hotel and Tourism Businessmen Federation Madhes Province pointed out the need of cooperation between
the province government, local level, private sector and tourism board for the development
of tourism sector in Madhes. He also commented that the historical heritage and tourist destinations in Madhes could not be utilized.
By connecting Parsa National Park of Madhes Province and Chitwan National Park of Bagmati Province, he assumed that the number of tourists can be increased in Madhes. He also argued that the number of external tourists cannot be increased in Madhes province until the construction of Nijgadh International Airport of Bara. Rajiv Pokhrel, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism said that there is abundant tourism here as there are plenty of tourism, religious and historical tourist destinations in Madhes Pradesh. He said that he can develop the tourism sector
together, 50 lakh tourists can be entered from neighboring country India alone.
In the program chaired by Minister Bhattarai, former Minister of State Tourism Rahbar Ansari, Provincial Assembly members Janardan Singh Chhetri and Shyam Patel, Vice Chancellor of Madhes University Dr. Deepak Shakya, Indian Mahavani Embassy, Birgunj’s Mahavanijy Devi Sahay Meena, Engineer of Visit Madhes Omprakash Sarraf, Deputy Secretary of Ministry Sushil Sah along with Parsa, Bara and Raut District Officer,Superintendent of Armed Police, Head of Tourism Development Office, Hotel and
Tourism Professionals, Communicators etc.
